![]() In the mean time you could disable the windows start-up sound. I will comment here again when I've done so. I will replace the cable and try a different port and see if that fixes the issue. It's possible that for some reason, the SATA III port on my (and your) motherboard is bad. Your comment however has sparked an idea I don't know why I didn't think of. I ended up just disabling the windows start-up sound which kind of just masks the problem. I actually did get it to go away when I installed windows on my secondary HDD (I wanted to see if my SSD was the problem) but when I bought a new SSD and installed windows on that, the problem returned. I tried re-installing windows but that didn't solve the issue. I wasn't able to figure out the cause of the problem.
