The backgrounds are well designed, and the areas are interesting. They're appropriately dark and creepy, and they work quite nicely. The graphics are certainly very nice for their age. Although this doesn't ruin the experience completely, it just isn't as entertaining as it was in its father form. While it is certainly fun with a light gun, relying on your reflexes and coordination, a mouse is just too simple. It's simple enough, but as you would think, it causes major repetition. HOTD works easily enough, you use your mouse to aim and fire, and when the need to reload arises, you simply click. Let's get more in-depth, too little details won't show enough. How did it translate to the PC? Well, it may not be a shining star of a game, but it still has its merits, and may provide a bit of fun. It's laughable dialogue and voice acting entertained just as much as the light gun game play did, and playing with a friend was a blast. House Of The Dead (HOTD) was an excellent rail shooter when it was released in the arcades.
